This course includes: electrical activity of the heart, EKG paper and recognizing normal EKGs, explaination of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, along with medical and nurseing interventions. This course lays the foundation for an advanced class in EKG intrerpretation and is an assess for ACLS certification.
At the end of course, each participant will be able to:
- Perform satisfactorily on an objective examination (70% or better) at the end of this course in relation to all material presented in this course.
- Name and discuss the four most important anatomical structures of the heart that relate to the EKG.
- Recognize one of the four most dangerous arrhythmias presented in the course, which could be dangerous to a person, including the two most frequently used treatment methods.
- Interpret correctly the basic arrhythmias presented in this program by using the step-by-step approach outlined in the course.
